Tracy Towah

June 1, 1983 — October 10, 2022

Tracy Towah

Tracy Towah, affectionately called Mamie, was born unto the loving union of Vonyee and Gabriel Towah in Blamien, Nimba County, Liberia, on June 1, 1983. She lived in Liberia until the civil upheaval of 1990 uprooted her and some of her siblings, sending them first to the Ivory Coast and later to Ghana. Tracy attended the Buduburam High School while she was in Ghana. She remained in Ghana until 2001 when she moved to the United States. She stayed in New Jersey briefly and later joined her siblings in Melrose, Massachusetts before moving to Minnesota, where she made a home for almost twenty years. She decided to pursue a career in nursing and had taken steps in that direction by earning a Certificate as a Nursing Assistant.

Mamie was unassuming, kind, fun, and easy to love. She was not the loudest in the room but was yet engaging. She loved music, and enjoyed listening to songs by the singer, Brandy, and was a fan of crime TV shows. She was vibrant in her manner of dressing, with purple being her favorite color.

Her children were her universe, and she raised them with constant care and made honest efforts to teach them valuable life skills so that they would grow up to be contributing members of society.

Tracy was a lovely and compassionate person, and her loss has left a void that will last a lifetime. She is predeceased by her father, Gabriel, and leaves behind her mother Vonyee, her children—Darious, the twins Sylvia and Syrena, Nikki, and Maxima—her siblings – Nerwokay, Junior, Wonser, Daniel, Shelton, Robert, little Mamie, Donawea, Zohwadoh, Oliver, Austin, Pauline, and Gabrielyn, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends– to mourn her loss.

Tracy’s health battle was brief and painful but through it all, she remained calm, strong, dignified, and courageous.

REST IN PEACE, DARLING, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!
