Valerie A. (Cassio) Cotter

Valerie A. (Cassio) Cotter of Stoneham, formerly of Mission Hill, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center. She was 64 years of age.

Valerie was the beloved wife of Edward F. "Skipper" Cotter. She was the devoted mother of Edward R. Cotter and Lauren M. Cotter. Valerie was the dear sister of Mary Facchini and her husband Lorenzo, Donna Vitale, Joanne McDonald and her husband Robert, Cathy Hounsell and her husband Robert, Joseph Cassio, Susan Mallon and Jeanne Eosco. She was the caring sister in law of Ann Cotter, Stephen Cotter and his wife Jeanne, Ellen Cotter, John Cotter and his wife Susan, the late Patricia DeVeer and her surviving husband Richard, the late Mary Jane Murphy. Valerie was the loving aunt of Michael Facchini, Victoria Hanson, Kayla McDonald, Sean McDonald, Jacqueline Hounsell, Natalie Mallon, Meghan Eosco, Kevin and John Cotter, Brian Murphy, Michael DeVeer, Melanie Wall, Erin Evans, Stephen Cotter. She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph J. Cassio and Elizabeth (Cremins) Cassio.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday, February 17, 2014 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Valerie's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 2-6pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available.
