Verna Catania of Stoneham, formerly of Charlestown passed away on August 6, 2003 at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham. She was 89 years of age.
Verna's warm and gentle smile embraced everyone who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all. Her love for her family went unparalleled.
Verna was the beloved wife of the late John Catania. She was the devoted mother of Robert Catania and his wife Sonya of San Diego, CA, Judith DeMarco of Medford, Joyce McNamara and her husband Thomas of Malden and Jackie Murphy and her husband Stephen of Stoneham. Verna was the cherished grandmother of Tony, Diane and Danny and the loving great grandmother of Olivia and Lana. Dear sister of the late Isabella Fugere.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham Friday at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Verna may be made to the charity of your choice.
