Vincent G. McNeil of Reading, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Winchester Hospital. He was 85 years of age.
Born in Dorchester, Vincent was the loving son of the late Violet and Michael McNeil. Vincent was a warm and loving husband, father and grandfather.
During WWII, Vincent proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Marines.
Vincent was a member of Veterans of Foreign War, Post 685 Reading, Reading Knights of Columbus, Council 1031, and the D.A.V. He was a Lector at St. Agnes Church in Reading and volunteered at Winchester Hospital.
Vincent was the beloved husband of the late Doris M. (Raymond) McNeil. Devoted father of Michael McNeil of Reading, Rosanne McNeil and her significant other Steve Marquis of NH and the late Patrice McNeil. Cherished grandfather of Kevin Heenan and his significant other Franchesca of Reading, Scott McNeil, Nicole McNeil both of North Reading and the late Andrea McNeil.
Funeral from the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING, Friday at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Vincent's Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading at 9 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Thursday from 3-7 pm in the funeral home. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment with Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
