Vincent A. Pollino

Vincent A. Pollino of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 86 years of age.





Born in Bell Town, Pennsylvania, Vincent was the loving son of the late Anthony Pollino and Mary (Abate) Pollino. Vincent was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed.





Vincent was a resident of Stoneham for over 50 years. He loved vacationing and going on cruises. He enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and playing poker with his friends. Vincent loved sports and he belonged to both golf and bowling leagues. Vincent's true love was for his family. They were first and foremost in his life.





Vincent was a dedicated employee for a Defense Contract Management Agency in Boston for several years. During World War II, Vincent proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army as a Private First Class. He was awarded The Purple Heart for his efforts. Vincent then became an active member of the DAV and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 45 in Medford.





Vincent was the beloved husband of the late Frances (Santagate) Pollino. He was the devoted father of Joseph Pollino and his wife Linda of New York, Robert Pollino and his wife Laurie of New Hampshire, Susan Assenzo and her husband Dennis of Wakefield. Vincent was the cherished grandfather of Joel Pollino and his wife Amy, Joshua, Emily and Rachael Pollino, Michael and Ashley Assenzo. He was the koving great grandfather of Tyler and Braedon. Vincent was the dear brother of Anthony Pollino of Georgia, Francis Pollino of Florida.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Vincent's life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
