(Mercer) Barbagallo
December 26, 1934 – September 22, 2024
Viola Jean "Mickey" Barbagallo, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Barbagallo, passed away on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024.
Born in Boston, she is the loving daughter of the late Robert and Jennie (Sainato) Mercer.
Mickey was a spit fire and fun and infectious to be around. She was an avid card player, loving Poker and Bridge. Mickey volunteered her time as a greeter at the North Reading Town Hall and worked at the 7/Eleven; this was well used social time. Mickey enjoyed time at her lake house and driving her 96 Buick. Her greatest joy came from being with her family. The memories created with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and grand dogs was cherished. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.
She is the devoted mother of Joseph J. Barbagallo, Jr. and his wife Ann, Linda Hein and her husband Fred, Peter J. Barbagallo and his wife Barbara and Susan Barbagallo. Cherished grandmother of Michael and John Barbagallo, Lisa Wallace, Freddie Hein and Samantha, Stephanie and Cameron Barbagallo, loving great grandmother of William, Hailey and Antonella. Beloved sister of Judy Farrnell, Rosemary O'Connor, Genevive "Baby" Cormier and the late Robert Mercer and late Lila Facciola. Mickey leaves many nieces nephews, cousins and her beloved grand dogs Tiffany Marie, Nittle Jean, Kali and Koda.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 from 10 to 11:30am.
Following the visitation, a funeral mass will be celebrated for Mickey at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading at 12:00pm.
Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
