IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia "Dolly"
(Colleamino) Saccocea
September 22, 1930 – February 20, 2025
Virginia "Dolly" (Colleamino) Saccocea, beloved wife of the late Louis L. Saccocea, passed away on Thursday, February 20th, 2025.
Affectionately known as Dolly, she grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville schools. Dolly married the love of her life Louis, and they settled in Wilmington to begin their family. Dolly began working at Market Basket in the Deli. She then began a life long career at the VFW, Sons of Italy and American Legion, all in Wilmington. A very social person, this job fit her perfectly. Dolly was not only able to be around people, but she was able to make a life dedicated to helping veterans. As a member of the VFW Women's Auxilliary, Dolly volunteered her time selling poppies, marching in the parades and raising money to help all those who served. Her and her husband enjoyed yard sales on Saturday mornings, entertaining friends in the home and being as social as they could. Dolly will be remembered for her love of her husband and son and for helping the men and women in service.
Dolly is the devoted mother of Louis R. Saccocea of Wilmington, beloved sister of the late Richard Colleamino. Cherished friend and neighbor of Geri and Paul, dear friend of Michele and the late Laura Caira, Kathy of the American Legion and the late Nance Steen. Dolly leaves many loving cousins, extended family and countless friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St, North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 4 to 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dolly's Memory to the Sons of Italy, P.O. Box 387, Wilmington, MA 01887
