Virginia Melanson

November 14, 1918 — December 27, 2003

Virginia (Dugan) Melanson of Stoneham passed away on Saturday December 27, 2003 at Winchester Hospital. She was 85 years of age.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Bert and Sadie (Hannaford) Dugan. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all.

Virginia dedicated a lot of her time to St. James Church. She made dolls and donated them to the poor. For her efforts, she was recognized in the Stoneham Independent. Virginia's family was first and foremost in her life.

Virginia was the beloved wife of the late John Melanson Sr. She was the devoted mother of John Melanson Jr. of Maine, Diane Little of New Hampshire, Sally Orem of Arizona and Susan Madore of Stoneham. Virginia was the cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday 4-8pm. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery. Parking available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St.
