Virginia Mary (Lyons) Murphy

Virginia Mary (Lyons) Murphy of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Bear Hill Nursing Center. She was 90 years of age.

Born May 10, 1924 in Everett, Virginia was the loving daughter of the late Jeremiah Francis Lyons and Bridget T. Lyons. Virginia was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be warmly remembered.

Virginia was a loyal and dedicated Teacher in Woburn for many years. A devout Catholic, Virginia was active at St. Patrick Church in Stoneham.

Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Paul G. Murphy. She was the devoted mother of Reverend Paul G. Murphy, Jeremiah F. Murphy and his wife Marilena, John C. Murphy and Eileen M. Nortrup and her husband Edward. The cherished grandmother of 11 and loving great grandmother of 2, Virginia was the dear sister of the late J. Murray Lyons and Lucy E. Riley. She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Virginia's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
