Virginia Mae (Goodwin) Waldner of Stoneham, formerly of Everett passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was 95 years of age.
Virginia was born on August 1, 1925 in Malden, Massachusetts to the late Howard A. and Jessie M. Goodwin. Virginia is a warm, kind and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Growing up in Everett, Virginia graduated from Everett High School in 1944. Following high school, Ginnie furthered her education by attending and graduating from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing earning her RN license. She worked at the Mass General Phillips House until she married and started her family. On April 8, 1950, Ginnie married the love of her life, Frank C. Waldner.
Ginnie was devoted to her family and cared for aging loved ones. She loved to spend time with friends and family. Ginnie and Frank liked to travel. They visited many places such as England, Scotland, Nova Scotia, and they drove across the country with friends. Together, they spent summers in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, and, after Frank retired, they went to Florida for the winters. Ginnie and Frank were happily married for 55 years until Frank passed away in 2005.
Ginnie was very dedicated and involved with the Glendale Baptist Church in Everett. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer and she participated in the Women's Guild. She lived in Everett until she moved to Stoneham to live with her daughter Joanne in 2010.
Virginia is the beloved mother of Karen Jean McIntyre and her husband Jeffrey B. and Joanne Lyn Waldner. The cherished grandmother of Dr. Katharine Alyssa and Justin Robert, Ginnie is the dear sister of the late Ariel Monahan and Arthur and Ralph Goodwin.
