Warren F. Holmes of Reading passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the Kirkwood House in Wakefield. He was 85 years old.
Born in Boston, Warren was the loving son of the late Caroline and Warner Holmes. Warren was a warm and caring son, uncle and great uncle and friend. He will be missed by all.
Warren was a very gentle, caring man who had a great love for his family and music. He would entertain his family and friends with his enormous collection of records starting over 60 years ago with the original cardboard records.
He spent many years of his younger life living in parts of California, which was his life and love. Warren's ancestors cam to America from England around 1630. His great grandfather Warner Holmes landed in Marshfield MA, and had two sons William and Robert who fought under Miles Standish in the Revolutionary War.
Warren was the loving brother of the late Mildred Moore, Esther Patrick and Edward Holmes Sr. He was the cherished uncle of Elaine Patrick of Foxboro, Gail Doucette of Saugus, Phyllis Maloney of Reading, Elizabeth Lear of Revere, Edward Holmes of Wakefield and the late Carolyn Glover of Reading, James Patrick of Willimantic Connecticut, and Robert Patrick of Wakefield. He is also survived by 30 loving and devoted grandnieces and nephews and many precious great grandnieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Warren's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-7pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St.
