Willard F. Nichols of Andover, formerly of Reading passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Winchester Hospital. He was 93 years of age.
Born on February 14, 1925 in Boston, Willard is the son of the late Chester Nichols and Ruby (Grimm) Nichols. Willard will be truly missed.
Willard is a proud retiree of the Reading Fire Department, retiring after 26 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Town of Reading. During World War II, Willard proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Seaman Second Class in the United States Navy. Willard loved his home on Little Sebago Lake in Maine.
Willard is the beloved husband for 68 years of Shirley (Malzahn) Nichols. He is the devoted father of Ron Nichols and his wife Brenda, Marsha Nichols and her partner Christopher, Bob Nichols, Virginia Bramante and her husband Michael. The cherished grandfather of Katie and her fiancé Megan, Kim, Matt and his wife Danielle, Joshua and his wife Christine, Lindsey, Joe and his wife Rachel and Heather, Willard is the loving great grandfather of 7. He is the dear brother of the late Paul Nichols and June Morong.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Willard's Eternal Life will be held on Friday, July 13th at 1pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family prior to the Service, beginning at 10am. Parking attendants available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
