William Joseph Bird, Jr. of Stoneham passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his home. He was 50 years of age.
Born on February 11, 1970, Bill is the beloved son of William J. Bird and Sandra (Mitchell) Bird. Bill is a warm and gentle son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
A longtime Stoneham resident, Billy excelled as a heavy equipment operator for 27 years in Local 4. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family especially on vacations and Sunday funday by the pool. He loved watching sports especially the Patriots and Bruins. His absolute favorite sports to watch were his kids, Billy the third in hockey and Kayleigh in basketball.
Billy was most known for his big heart and gentle soul. He made friends everywhere he went. Billy was loved by every life that he crossed paths with. He will forever be loved and cherished through the countless memories we have all made with him throughout the years.
Bill is the devoted father of William J. Bird, III and Kayleigh Bird. The cherished grandfather of Breelyn and Mason Bird, he is the dear brother of Allison Limone and her husband James. Bill is also lovingly survived by his nieces Jessica, Alyssa, Victoria and countless friends.
A Funeral Mass Celebrating Bill's Eternal Life will be held on Tuesday, January 26th at 10am in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. STONEHAM. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH. Covid protocols will be followed.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Bill's Family on Monday, January 25th from 3-7pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Per MA regulations, face coverings must be worn while at the Funeral Home and not more than 25% capacity will be allowed in the Funeral Home at one time.
