William P. Donahoe of Stoneham passed away on Saturday December 7, 2013 at The Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was 91 years of age.
Born in Winchester on November 18, 1922, William was the loving son of the late Patrick W. Donahoe and Katherine (Mahoney) Donahoe. William was a warm and caring son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
William was a dedicated plumber for Boston's Local 12 Union. During World War II, William proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Coxswain in the United States Navy. A passionate golfer, William was a member of Meadow Brook Golf Club in Reading and was also a member of the Bandits Golf Group at Unicorn Golf Course in Stoneham.
William was the beloved father of Mary Donahoe and her partner Judith, Patrick W. Donahoe and his wife Ann, Clare Donahoe and her longtime friend Ron, Joseph Donahoe and his wife Candice, Pauline Rose and her husband James N. He was the cherished grandfather of Sara DiSanto, Christine DiSanto, Kate Donahoe, Daniel Donahoe, Ryan Donahoe, Sean Donahoe. The dear brother of the late Charles and Robert Donahoe, William was the loving brother in law of Margaret Donahoe and the late Mary Donahoe. He was also survived by 3 nieces and 4 nephews.
A Funeral Service Celebrating William's Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family prior to the Service, beginning at 11am. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
