William F. Dooley

August 14, 1919 — April 26, 2009

William F. Dooley of Reading passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009. He was 89 years of age.



Born in Everett, Bill was the loving son of the late Annabelle (Chisholm) and Francis J. Dooley, Sr. Bill was a warm and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed.



Bill was a Former Everett City Council Member and longtime City of Everett Employee.



During World War II, William proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army where he served as Captain.



Bill was the beloved husband of the late Ann M. (King) Dooley. He was the loving father of Patricia A. DeMatteis and her husband Alfeo of Stoneham and Maureen Dooley and her companion Richard Thompson of Swampscott. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew J. DeMatteis and Julie A. DeMatteis both of South Boston. William was the loving brother of Esther Roche of W. Newbury, Louise Harwood of Marshfield, Rita DeCastro of Pembroke and the late Margaret Keith, Ruth Holland, Mary Herlihy, Francis J. Dooley, Jr. and Anne Dooley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.



Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 8-9:30 am at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Bill's life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
