William J. Duffy and Florence C. (Desrochers) Duffy passed away peacefully 12 hours apart. William passed on Thursday April 29th and Florence passed on Friday April 30th.
Loving parents of William Duffy and his late wife Karen, Deborah Bruton, Paul Duffy and his wife Rose, Donna Westlake and her husband Scott, Gayle Duffy and the late Daniel Duffy and David Duffy. Beloved grandparents of Jennifer Duffy, Kimberly Duffy, Melissa Thompson and her husband William, Matthew Bruton, Sarah Bruton and the late Katherine Claire Bruton.
William is the dear brother of Donald Duffy and his wife Kathleen and the late Molly Hurley, Bernard Duffy, Charles Duffy, and John Duffy.
Florence is the dear sister of Claire Desaulniers and her husband Pierre and the late Jill Addor, Roger Desrochers, Robert Desrochers, Normand Desrochers and Leo Desrochers.
William and Florence are survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
William was a Somerville police officer for over 30 years as a patrolman and detective. He was a member of the United States Navy Reserves for 4 years.
They enjoyed spending time with their family at their cottages in Wolfeboro New Hampshire and listening to music from the 40's. William and Florence have been together for 75 years and married for 69 of them.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Monday May 10th at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating William and Florence's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment will be Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Sunday May 9th from 2 to 6 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available. Due to state regulations for Covid-19, a mask is required while in the funeral home as well as social distancing at all times.
