William H. Levy of Melrose passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 88 years of age.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, William was the loving son of the late Bertha (Skelski) Levy and Harold R. Levy. William was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed.
During WW II, William proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy. William was an avid golfer, he loved bowling, enjoyed going to the beach and to Foxwoods. William also enjoyed square and round dancing. He was a devout hometown Boston Sports Fan.
William was the beloved husband of the late Mary M. (Graves) Levy. He was the devoted father of Marilyn Rivenburg of Melrose, Jacqueline Harrington of Stoneham, Carolyn Pebley and her husband Mark of Wakefield. Cherished grandfather of Jill and Laurie Rivenburg, Nicole Harrington, Scott McDonough, Johnathan and Clifford Pebley. Loving great grandfather of Kaitlin, Kevin, Justin and Ava. Dear brother of the late Eleanor and Ruby.
A Funeral Service celebrating William's life will be held on Saturday at 10am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Lakeside Cemetery immediately following the Service.
