William Thomas Manchester, beloved husband of the late Claudette (Gendreau) Manchester, passed away on Monday, March 18th, 2024. Born in Fall River, he is the loving son of the late George Glenwood and Martha Catherine (Heron) Manchester.
Bill grew up in Fall River and was a graduate of Durfy High School. He served in the United States Army and used his G.I. Bill and attended Tufts University Dental Technician School. Bill started his own business, Gray Crafters, making dentures and teeth. Bill met Claudette as she worked as a book keeper. They married and settled in Woburn and Saugus to raise their children. Bill enjoyed camping, boating and spending time on Bow Lake in New Hampshire.
His greatest joy in addition to his family was the love he shared with his wife, Claudette. He enjoyed his grandchildren and is deeply missed by his family.
William is the devoted father of William D. Manchester and his wife Patrice of North Reading, Cheryl DiLisio and her husband Donald of Swampscott, Donna Snyder and her husband Scott of Ohio and Bradford Manchester and his wife Denae of South Carolina. Cherished grandfather of Courtney Leroux and her husband David, Matthew Manchester and his fiancée Aubree, Janelle and Danielle DiLisio and Robert and Scott Snyder, loving great grandfather of Emily Catherine Leroux, Sophia, Samara, Thea and Mirren. Beloved brother of the late George Earl Manchester and Mary E. Manchester. Beloved uncle of Susan Ruggiero, Christine Goodwin and her husband Tony, Deborah Cabral and her husband Paul, Linda Souza and her husband Joseph and the late Patricia Jensen and her husband Keith Jensen and the late George E. Manchester and his wife Kathy.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Monday, March 25th, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30am.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated following the visitation at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading, Monday, March 25th, 2024 at 11:00am.
Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
