William Steven Melchionda was born on March 12, 1970, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Sadly, he passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the age of 51, from complications resulting from an accident.
Bill grew up in Lawrence, Massachusetts and graduated from the Lawrence Vocational High School where he played various sports with a passion for football. Bill was a long-time employee of the MBTA as a Building and Stations Supervisor where his managers and peers respected and praised him for his dedication to his work and the support he gave to his colleagues. As a skilled tradesman, Bill could build or fix anything and was always there to help a friend in need.
Bill was a proud and devoted father to three sons and enjoyed coaching and participating in his children's sporting activities. He loved spending time with his friends and family, vacations at the beach in the summer, hiking, spreading good cheer and his one-of-a-kind humor. He took great care and pride in his appearance and was known for his impeccable sense of style. Bill had a heart of gold and was an incredibly kind, generous, humble, and loving family member and friend. He had a gentle soul and will be forever missed by all who loved him.
Bill is predeceased by his parents William and Patricia Melchionda, brother Steven Melchionda, and firstborn son, William Anthony Melchionda. Bill is survived by his two youngest sons, Madden and Mason Melchionda, his sister Carlene Reardon and fiancée Brendan O'Hagan, his brother Robert Melchionda and his wife Ellen and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Bill's Family on Thursday, December 16th, from 4 to 8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. A Funeral Service Celebrating Bill's Eternal Life will be held on Friday, December 17th at 11am in the Funeral Home followed by a burial where Bill will be buried together with his son William Anthony "Little Billy" at Elmwood Cemetery in Bradford, Massachusetts.
