William C. Millerick

January 9, 1918 — March 19, 2007

William C. Millerick of Stoneham passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Winchester Hospital. He was 89 years of age.





Born in Somerville, William was the loving son of the late James Millerick and Margaret (O'Connell) Millerick. William was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.





William was a dedicated 31 year veteran of the Boston Fire Department, Engine 32 Charlestown retiring in 1974. He was a volunteer at Child Foundation Center in Charlestown and was known and loved as Papa Bill the reader. William was a great handyman and helped family and extended family members with projects. He had a great love of family and his grandchildren always knew he would have a pocket full of candy.





William was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor M. (D'Alileo) Millerick. He was the devoted loving father of William C. Millerick, Jr. and his wife Joy, Robert P. Millerick and his wife Polly all of CA, Henry P. Millerick and his wife Rosemarie of Stoneham, John D. Millerick and his wife Karyn of Andover and Thomas P. Millerick. William was the cherished grandfather of eleven and great grandfather of eleven, the dear brother of Jeanette Riley, Eleanor Cocoran, both of Medford, and the late Anna, Mary, Margaret, John, David, Michael and James.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating William's life in St. Francis de Sales Church, 303 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Thursday 4-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.





Donations may be made in memory of William to the Boston Firefighters Relief Fund, 115 Southhampton St. Boston, MA 02118.
