William E. Reynolds

June 4, 1923 — March 8, 2011

William E. Reynolds of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Winchester Hospital in Winchester. He was 87 years of age.



Born in Medford, William was the loving son of the late Elizabeth (Flynn) Reynolds and William E. Reynolds.



William graduated Stoneham High School Class of 1941. He was employed at USPS for 33 years at the State House. William was a member of the Stoneham American Legion and VFW. He loved to dance and enjoyed traveling to California, Florida, Germany and West Point. William's family always came first, he always made time for everyone. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was very active at St. Patrick Church and helped in fundraising to remodel the church. William loved his golf weekend trips to Pennsylvania. He was a warm and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed.



During WWII, William proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army.



William was the beloved husband for 63 years of Madeline (Doherty) Reynolds. He was the devoted father of Carol Mucica and her husband Bill of Tewksbury, Bill Reynolds, Jr. of Stoneham, James Reynolds and his wife Barbara of Dracut. William was the cherished grandfather of Paul, Elizabeth, James Jr., Matthew and Erin. He was the dear brother of the late Dorothy Potter and her late husband Arthur. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.



Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating William's Eternal life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
