William S. "Bill" Holmes

William S. "Bill" Holmes of Reading, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home. He was 75 years of age.

Born on March 2, 1939 in Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada, Bill was the loving son of the late Myron Holmes and Lillian (Moore) Holmes. Billl was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who were privileged to have known him.

Bill was a dedicated custodian for Reading Public Schools for many years. His true passion was for his family. Spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren meant everything to him.

Bill was the beloved husband of Beverly (Froio) Holmes. He was the devoted father of Joanne Hathaway and her late husband Rick, MSGT USAF, Michael Holmes and his wife Laura, Timothy Holmes and his wife Laurie, Beverly Seibold and her husband Peter, Julie Gauthier and her husband Steven, Benjamin Holmes and his wife Laura and the late William S. Holmes Jr. Bill was the cherished grandfather of Sean and Megan Hathaway, Michael, Danielle, Caroline & Jenna Seibold, Melissa Carlson, Ben and Kate Gauthier, Nicholas, Julia, Casie, Justin, Logan and Wyatt Holmes. The dear brother of Marjorie Dow and her late husband Albert, he was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday, February 6, 2015 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Bill's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
